The Invitation

Scripture Portion: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." -- Matthew 11:28-30.

Who is inviting? It's not your pastor neither your priest nor rabbi. It's Jesus who is inviting you. Have you accepted Him as your personal Savior and Lord? This is his invitation. "Come unto me".

And this is what he said about himself: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." -- John 14:6. This is the reason why he is giving you and me this invitation: "Come unto me".

John the baptist introduced Jesus this way, "Behold, the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world." (John 1:29)

Before Jesus was born, the angel of the Lord appeared unto Joseph saying, "Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." -- Matthew 1:20, 21.

When Jesus was baptized by John the baptist, what did the voice from heaven say about him? "And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water. and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." -- Matthew 3:16, 17.

At the Mount of transfiguration, what did the voice out of the cloud say about Jesus? "After six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light... and behold a voice out of the cloud which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him." -- Matthew 17:1-5.

So the invitation is from Jesus of whom the voice from heaven said, "Hear ye him."

An impotent man was made whole in the name of Jesus. When the people asked Peter, "By what power, or by what name have ye done this?" Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost said unto them, "Ye rulers of the people and elders of Israel, If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

Back to his invitation, "Come unto me..." What is your response to him right now?

Will you say this prayer with me: "Lord, I accept you as my personal Savior and Friend. I believe that you are the Son of God and that you have come to save me from my sins to make me holy and righteous - worthy to be called a child of God. Grant me the gift of The Holy Spirit which you have promised and enable me to live according to your will so that you may be glorified. In Jesus name. Amen.

The undersigned incorporators, all of legal age and majority of whom are residents of the Philippines, have this day voluntarily agreed to form a non-stock corporation under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.

FIRST: That the name of this corporation shall be: CAMP JOSEPH BATES BIBLE COLLEGE INC.

SECOND: A. That the purpose of this association is

1. To provide social and spiritual development in the community through the teachings of Jesus Christ.
2. To carry on the work of evangelism; promote, establish and support missionary work in the Philippines and other countries.
3. To conduct seminars/lectures in various government agencies as well as private institutions on moral enhancement and spiritual development programs.
4. To equip religious leaders in their ministry work by way of culturally relevant print, audio and video materials.
5. To do such other things as are necessry for the furtherance of the purposes of the association.

EIGHT: That no part of the income which the association may obtain as an incident to its operation shall be distributed as dividends to its members, trustees of officers subject to the provisions of the Corporation Code on dissolution. Any profit obtained by the association as a result of its operation, whenever necessary or proper shall be used for the furtherance of the purposes enumerated in Article II, subject to the provision of Title XI of the Corporation Code of the Philippines.

NINTH: That Gregorio M. Seña has been elected by the members as Treasurer of the association to act as such until his successor is duly elected and qualified in accordance with the by-laws; and that as such Treasurer, he has been authorized to receive for and in the name and for the benefit of the association, all contributions or donations paid or given by the members.

TENTH: That the corporation manifests its willingness to change its corporate name in the event another person, firm or entity has acquired a prior right to use the said firm name or one deceptively or confusingly similar to it.

ELEVENTH: That the association shall comply with the requirements for non-stock corporations in the course of its operation.
